So, when you download or import, it is actually stuffing those files in a place that is normally accessible ONLY to iPhoto (Photos). it is certainly not a place that DXO or OV3 should be expected to know about and perform well with. Instead, Photos Library is a thing called a "package", and Apple stuffs all sorts of things in there that are useful for iPhoto (Photos) that you really don't care about. It is possible all your photos are actually someplace else, rather than (or in addition to) in that stupid Photos package. In that case, you can just go get them and put them where they belong, and where it is convenient for you to find them when you want to edit with OV3 or another application. Generally, I find my photos (and I put them there if they are not there) in the systems folder called Pictures. That's an ordinary folder, NOT a package, so you can navigate it just as you do ordinary folders. You might look in the obvious places (download folder), or search for particular photo file names to locate them. If you uploaded with Photos, the image files may be ONLY in the Photos Library package. If you can't find them outside Photos Library (maybe they are not there), then you probably want to get them OUT of the darn Photos Library. In the finder, just navigate to Photos Library (confusingly, it is probably in the "Pictures" folder), and control-click (also called right-click) on it. You will be given a menu of options, and you should select "show package contents".
